Millions Awarded for Bridge & Culvert Work Throughout NYS

SHARE NOW

$484 million has been announced for bridge and culvert work throughout the Finger Lakes.

Governor Kathy Hochul on Wednesday announced the funding as part of the newest round of Bridge NY funding.

“As New York continues to experience the effects of climate change firsthand, we need to make critical infrastructure upgrades so our communities can withstand the extreme weather to come,” Governor Hochul said. “Working closely with local governments, we are investing millions to harden more than 200 bridges and culverts across the State, enhancing public safety and make these structures ready for whatever mother nature can throw at us.”

The money will support 216 individual projects in 137 communities throughout the Empire State as local governments look to strengthen their existing infrastructure and replace what cannot be saved.
