Students in the National Honor Society at Canandaigua Academy have chosen their Teacher of the Year for 2025.
Matt Ward, a Math teacher at the Academy, was selected for being “a truly exceptional educator whose impact extends far beyond the classroom.” In addition to being a classroom teacher, Mr. Ward has been the cross country and track coach at CA for 25 years.
According to the district, “Mr. Ward has led numerous student-athletes to sectional titles and to compete at states, and his teams have won many sectional titles. He has been dedicated to advocating for his athletes and creating positive relationships with his students.”
