A North Syracuse man is facing felony charges following a series of alleged thefts from a sporting goods store at Eastview Mall.

Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies say they were called to Dick’s Sporting Goods at the mall around 3 p.m. on Saturday for a report of a man concealing merchandise. Investigators allege the suspect hid a baseball bat on his person and then walked past all points of sale without paying.

Deputies say the man was later identified as the suspect in several prior larcenies at the same store, dating back almost two months. Authorities allege that between November 8 and December 27, the suspect stole $8,479.76 worth of baseball bats and baseball gloves.  43-year-old Frank Clark Jr. was taken into custody and charged with third-degree grand larceny and possession of burglar’s tools.

Clark was transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he is being held without bail pending further action in the Town of Victor Court.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
