One of the officers involved in the arrest of her boss for drunken driving this week has been suspended pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
Macedon Police Sgt. Brigette Goodfriend will still receive a paycheck during her suspension from the town after it launched an investigation into the department’s handling of its arrest of then-Chief, Fabian Rivera, on Monday for drunken driving following a one-car crash. After arriving on the scene, the Macedon Police Department reportedly asked for help from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office after determining Chief Rivera was involved in the accident and he was showing possible signs of intoxication.
Rivera’s resignation was accepted by the town board Tuesday night.
