In the election for Ontario County District Attorney, Jason MacBride secured a decisive victory, earning 77% of the vote over Jim Ritts. Ritts, who retired from the position last month, remained on the ballot despite stepping down ahead of the election. According to unofficial election results, MacBride received 11,858 votes and Ritts tallied 3,442 votes.
MacBride secured the Republican nomination back in June when he defeated Ritts in a tightly contested primary.
“I am deeply honored to serve as your next District Attorney, ” MacBride said Tuesday night. “This victory belongs to all who believe in truth, fairness, and accountability in our justice system.”
