Two convicted felons from Lodi are facing dozens of weapons charges after investigators found a cache of illegally possessed firearms and high-capacity magazines in their home.
Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson says 72-year-old Keith Dickinson and 47-year-old Joshua Dickinson, both convicted felons prohibited from owning firearms, were arrested Wednesday and Thursday following an investigation by investigators.
Authorities seized 23 long guns, two unregistered pistols, and nine extended rifle magazines from the Dickinson residence. Both men were charged with 13 counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and 25 counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
In addition, Joshua Dickinson was charged with second-degree criminal contempt for violating an active order of protection that required him to surrender all firearms. Investigators say he failed to comply.
The Sheriff’s Office says the arrests highlight the serious public safety risk posed when individuals with prior felony convictions illegally possess weapons.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
