Several local public libraries will benefit from funding allocated to them under the state’s Public Library Construction Aid program. State Senator Pam Helming has announced the following libraries in her district received funding:
- Geneva Public Library, $11,385
- OWWL Library System, $21,532
- Wood Library Association, $21,727
- Newark Public Library, $48,645
“Libraries are places people go to learn, to connect, to find a job, to explore, and to dream. Even in this digital age, libraries remain relevant and vital to the strength and promise of our communities,” said Senator Helming. “This state funding supports capital and infrastructure projects that help ensure our libraries can remain vibrant, accessible, and sustainable centers for their communities and the residents of all ages they serve.”
Senator Helming co-sponsored a law enacted in 2021 that expanded funding opportunities for small and rural libraries under the Library Construction Aid Program.
