Local Ballparks Top NJCAA Div. III Facility Rankings

Three local baseball fields have been ranked as some of the best in the nation for their division.

Out of over 80 ballparks across the country, Auburn’s Falcon Park has been named the best National Junior College Athletics Association Division III facility by the website The JBB.

The 2,800-seat facility hosted the 2024 NJCAA Division III World Series. It is also slated to host the 2025 World Series.

Aside from being used for baseball by Cayuga Community College. Falcon Park is also the home of the Auburn Doubledays who currently compete in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League against teams such as the Geneva Red Wings and Newark Pilots.

The park is also used for softball, lacrosse, soccer, concerts, and community events.

Nick Football Club, which operates two soccer teams in the United Premier Soccer League, announced it would call Falcon Park home for its 2024 season with owner Nick Downing praising the park’s facilities on Finger Lakes News Radio.

“It’s a really lovely facility, to keep it simple,” said Downing. “It’s very well maintained and works great. Just for league standards alone, you need to have certain expectations for each facility to be used. It absolutely knocks them all out of the park.”

In Canandaigua, Finger Lakes Community College’s Marty Dodge Logging Sports Field was ranked number three. The facility is named after former head coach Marty Dodge, a professor of Environmental Conservation and Horticulture from 1972 to 2011 who organized and coached the logging sports team for 37 years.

The Onondaga Baseball Complex, Onondaga Community College’s 571-seat full turf field, placed fourth.
