Life-Long Gorham Resident Announces Bid for Town Supervisor

Vowing to bring a business approach to the office, life-long Gorham resident Dale Stell has announced his campaign for Town of Gorham Supervisor.

“I want to be Gorham Town Supervisor, not because I need a job or another project. But because I love this town!” said Stell.

Stell noted that he decided to run after numerous requests over several months from Gorham citizens.

“As a homeowner, landowner, business leader, farmer, prior lakefront property owner, home builder, and friend of the Mennonite community, I feel that I am uniquely qualified to well represent all people in our town because I have some commonality with all the residents and can relate to all,” said Stell.

Stell is currently president of City Hill Excavating, with 39 employees, and was the founder and president of Lakeview Lawn & Landscape, with 105 employees, from 1980-2012. Active in the business community, he also is a Managing Partner of Deep Run Home, LLC.

“I want to be Gorham Town Supervisor, not because I need a job or another project. But because I love this town!”

Talking about his approach to governing, Stell said he is an “efficiency fanatic” and hates waste. “I will manage the Town of Gorham like a business,” he added. “Every town employee should have a current job description and job performance expectations.” Also, he continued, “The Town of Gorham is in the public relations business and anyone who lives, plays, works or visits our town is a customer and should be treated like a customer.”

Stell is a graduate of Marcus Whitman Central School and Alfred State College. He served 18 years on the Marcus Whitman Board of Education, including four years as president. Stell has served on the Alfred State College Development Fund Board since 2007 and was president for six years. A member of the Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion Board of Directors for six years, Stell was president for two years.

A big Gorham booster, Stell noted, “I love this beautiful place called Gorham. I have lived here my entire life. I hope you will support me in my quest to repair the town’s issues and return the goodwill and confidence to our town government.”
