The IRONMAN Village set up on the Geneva lakefront offers everything from running shoes, shirts, water bottles, sunglasses, and more for sale before this weekend’s Musselman race.
IRONMAN 70.3 Musselman is a swim, a bike ride, and run. Its 70.3 miles in and around Seneca Lake in Ontario and Seneca Counties.
Sunday, before you wake up, some 2,000 athletes will take in the water and on their bikes as the race begins at 6:30 a.m. at the Geneva Lakefront Park.
According to the Ironman website: “IRONMAN 70.3 Musselman is the perfect race for athletes who want to experience an urban, upstate adventure. You’ll start your race with a swim in Seneca Lake followed by a bike course that takes you into the rolling hills of the Finger Lakes Region, boasting incredible views of both Seneca and Cayuga Lakes. The run course will lead you on a journey along the shores of Seneca Lake and through the vineyard region before completing the day with a picturesque finish on the shores of one of the most iconic Finger Lakes.”
Friday athletes started to visit the Geneva lakefront where the race begins and ends. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 3:15pm.
