An Ontario County home sustained extensive damage and two cars were completely destroyed by fire Sunday morning.
After Thomas Knapp and Charlene Flieger returned to their home in Bristol just after 11 they spotted smoke coming from under the hood of their vehicle. Knapp tried to open the hood but decided not to when he heard a fire crackling in the engine compartment. The fire spread to another car parked nearby and eventually to the couple’s Gulick Road home. There’s no word yet on the cause.
Bristol, Richmond, Livonia, Cheshire, East Bloomfield, West Bloomfield, Hemlock, and Naples fire departments responded, as well as Canandaigua and Richmond Ambulance and the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
