The thruway pavement improvement project in Seneca and Ontario Counties that began in 2024 has been completed.
Governor Kathy Hochul announced on Tuesday that the $6 million project between I-90 exits 42 (Geneva – Lyons – NY Route 14) and 44 (Canandaigua – Victor – NY Route 332) has been completed. Seneca Falls’ Seneca Stone Corporation was the project contractor.
“Infrastructure investments are benefiting New Yorkers by modernizing our transportation system and improving the quality of life for travelers, local businesses and residents,” Governor Hochul said. “These projects are transforming our roadways, critical for the economy and improving travel for millions of motorists.”
Work along the 20-mile stretch of road included full and partial depth pavement repairs, mill and inlay work, and shoulder reconstruction. Safety improvements were included in the project, such as new reflective line striping and milled-in audible roadway delineators.
According to the governor, approximately 28,000 motorists use this section of the thruway every day.
The governor also announced the completion of two additional Thruway projects – the $7.5 million Townline Rd Bridge replacement project in the Towns of DeWitt and Salina and the interchange 34A Bridge rehabilitation project in Onondaga County.
