Hobart and William Smith Professor of Politics Jodi Dean will return to teaching this fall.
In an email update yesterday to faculty and staff, College President Mark Gearan announced an investigation conducted by an outside law firm has been completed.
An investigator concluded Dean’s statements celebrating Palestinian resistance against Israel caused harm, but did not rise to the level of harassment or discrimination. Dean wrote in a blog that “the images from October 7th of paragliders evading Israeli air defenses were for many of us exhilarating.”
Dean, a tenured professor, has been on paid leave since April.
