A Gorham man charged in connection with the death of his neighbor has been found not guilty on all counts, according to his attorney.
Nicholas Pascazi III was acquitted by an Ontario County jury this week on charges of second-degree manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, and third-degree assault. The charges stemmed from an April 14, 2024, incident at an Arnold Road residence.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Pascazi was involved in an altercation when 55-year-old Teddy Read attempted to intervene. Deputies say Pascazi struck Read, causing him to fall and hit his head on a concrete floor. Read later died from the injury on May 5 of 2024, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Defense attorney Jason Housel said the incident was an act of self-defense and criticized the prosecution, saying the charges never should have been filed.
