Goodwill of the Finger Lakes officially opened its new Geneva location Friday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Located at 381 Hamilton Street in the former Tops Market, the store is Goodwill’s 14th in the region and third in Ontario County, joining locations in Canandaigua and Victor. The first 100 shoppers received $10 gift cards, and rewards members are earning double points throughout the day.
“We are grateful to our new neighbors in Geneva for the warm welcome,” Goodwill of the Finger Lakes President and CEO Jen Lake said. “Today’s grand opening is yet another significant step that reflects our growth in bringing our unique and sustainable thrifting experience to even more shoppers in the Finger Lakes region and our continued investment in supporting the communities we serve through our many impact programs and services.”
All proceeds from in-store purchases directly support Goodwill’s community impact programs, including Goodwill Vision Services, 211/LIFE LINE, 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, Goodwill Learning Academy, workforce development and Good Neighbor Program. In addition to its retail operations, the Geneva store doubles as a convenient donation site and accepts donations daily during regular store hours.
New York State Senator Pam Helming said, “The opening of this new Goodwill store is a powerful example of how smart redevelopment can make a big impact. What was once a vacant Tops Market is now a bright, active, and welcoming space that will drive foot traffic, support local businesses, and strengthen the Geneva community as a whole. I’m proud to support organizations like Goodwill of the Finger Lakes, whose work reflects the spirit of service, innovation, and resilience that defines our region. Today, we’re not just cutting a ribbon—we’re opening doors to opportunity, connection, and economic growth.”
The store offers a wide selection of thrift items, with proceeds supporting local community programs and sustainability efforts.
Donations are being accepted daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
