Police say a Geneva woman displayed a handgun through a jacket pocket when she stole approximately $50 from Saglimbeni Discount Liquor Store in Geneva last Friday afternoon.
April Patterson fled the area and headed south on Wadsworth Street. She was found a short time later and taken into custody. The 45-year-old was also arrested for allegedly stealing the Tip Jar from the Hernandez Mexican Store on March 3rd. A convicted felon, it was also learned Patterson had an active warrant for her arrest for violating parole.
She was charged with felony robbery and misdemeanor petit larceny. Additional charges are pending after police alleged Patterson may be the suspect in several other robberies in the city of Geneva.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
