Geneva Town Board Approves 2026 Budget

The Geneva Town Board has approved its 2026 budget, keeping overall spending in line with revenues while making a slight increase in the portion funded by taxes. Town Supervisor Mark Venuti said total appropriations are up modestly from last year, and the amount to be raised by taxes is $452,680, an increase of $3,133 over the 2025 budget.

“The increase mostly reflects our contracts with the three volunteer fire companies,” Venuti said. “Northside on Carter Road, White Springs on County Road 6, and Westlake Road on the south end all rely on this funding for equipment, fuel, utilities, and gear.”

Venuti emphasized that the budget process included a tentative budget, a board work session, and a public hearing, which had no residents in attendance. “There are no big surprises, no new taxes or spending beyond this modest adjustment,” he said. “We’re able to fund the things we want to do with the income we have, and continue supporting our volunteer fire companies, which is vital to the community.”

Venuti added the approved 2026 budget ensures town operations and essential services continue smoothly while providing additional support to the volunteer fire departments.
