Geneva Street Closed After Truck Hits Railroad Bridge

Gates Avenue in Geneva is closed to traffic after a utility truck hit and damaged the railroad overpass.

The bridge, over the cut-through between Exchange and Genesee Street, now has significant structural damage.  The bridge is being held up by two steel beams.

Finger Lakes Railway is working to fix the problems, but that work could take several weeks. Geneva officials say they will keep residents updated on the progress on the city’s social media platforms.
