The executive chef of a Phelps restaurant joins the district as the new director of food services this spring.
Jason Conrad, who has worked at The Local Palate in Phelps for two years, takes over the post from Gerry Barker. Barker retired as food services director last year and has been serving on an interim basis since that time.
Before joining The Local Palate, Conrad worked as an executive chef for Metz Culinary Management, where he was based in Rochester, and Top of the Lake Restaurant in Penn Yan.
