Geneva Residents Suing City Over Property Damage

SHARE NOW

The city of Geneva is being sued by two of its residents.

Julia Hoyle and her husband, Kelby Russell, claim their properties at 132 and 138 Pulteney St. were flooded due to a breach in the Cemetery Creek Sewer System after heavy rain in April 2023. Their lawsuit alleges poor maintenance of a storm sewer system damaged their properties.

The Finger Lakes Times reports the couple alleges the city misrepresented the issue, attributing the flooding to gutters and a natural waterway.
