Geneva Police Department Welcomes New Officer

SHARE NOW

The Geneva Police Department welcomed a new member to its ranks on Friday, Nov. 14, as Officer Edward Ely was officially sworn in during a ceremony at City Hall. Ely joins the department with prior law enforcement experience from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

On that same day, the department also held a badge-pinning ceremony for Officer Jace Parry, who is nearing completion of his training at the Monroe County Police Academy. Parry is expected to join the department’s patrol division once he completes all remaining academy requirements.

City officials said they are pleased to bring both officers aboard and emphasized the experience, dedication, and fresh perspective they will add to the force.

The new hires come as the City of Geneva continues broader recruitment efforts across multiple departments. Positions currently in progress include a Community Vitality Coordinator, a Building Maintenance Worker, and an upcoming sergeant promotion within the police department.

Residents interested in employment with the city can find available opportunities through the Ontario County Job Opportunity portal.
