A Geneva man has been charged with felony sexual abuse following a police investigation into an incident reported in Penn Yan.
Penn Yan Police say 37-year-old Bryan Garcia-Perez was arrested after an investigation into an alleged assault that occurred on October 24. According to police, Garcia-Perez is accused of sexually abusing an intoxicated or unconscious woman on two separate occasions within the Yates County village. He was charged with two counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a Class D felony.
Garcia-Perez was arraigned in Yates County CAP Court and released on pre-trial release. He is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
