A Geneva man has been arrested following a violent domestic-related incident in the Town of Canandaigua.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that 33-year-old Rodolfo Jiminez-Tema was taken into custody after deputies responded to a 911 call from an emergency community phone. Deputies say a female victim used the community phone to call for help and was found at the location by first responders with visible injuries.
Investigators allege that during the incident, Jiminez-Tema used physical force to assault the victim, stole her phone as she attempted to call 911, forcibly touched her genital area, damaged property, and then fled the scene with stolen items.
Jiminez-Tema is charged with aggravated sexual abuse in the third degree, robbery in the second degree, assault in the third degree, criminal mischief in the fourth degree, and criminal obstruction of breathing.
With assistance from the Geneva Police Department, deputies located Jiminez-Tema at his residence, where he was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Ontario County Jail for centralized arraignment.
The victim was treated at a nearby hospital for her injuries.
The investigation remains ongoing.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
