Geneva Looks to Move Foward With New Town Park

SHARE NOW

Plans are beginning to take shape for a new park and water management project in the town of Geneva near Marsh Creek and Carter Road. Town Supervisor Mark Venuti stated that public input will play a significant role in determining the final site’s appearance.

“We have Barton and Loguidice as the contractor, and they are working with us,” said Venuti. “There’s going to be a public hearing probably in February, get the people that live around there and anybody in the town to come around and say, this is what we would like to have there. But the preliminary thoughts are that it would be passive recreation, you know, like trails, footpaths, that kind of thing, but also we’re going to do some stormwater control there.”

Venuti noted the location is especially important because it sits at the headwaters of Marsh Creek. The area collects runoff from large stretches of farmland, sending significant amounts of water downstream
