Geneva City Councilor’s Drug Case Adjourned to February

SHARE NOW

The criminal case against a Geneva City Councilor who was arrested earlier this month on felony drug charges has been adjourned for one month.

Ahmad Whitfield appeared in Town Court on Wednesday after being arrested on January 7th for allegedly selling drugs. The case was adjourned until February 25. Whitfield’s attorney told the Finger Lakes Times that discussions regarding discovery are ongoing and that he believes there are weaknesses in the prosecution’s case. The attorney added that no decision has been made about Whitfield’s future on the City Council.

Mayor Jim Cecere publicly urged Whitfield to consider stepping down, and City Council has referred Whitfield to the city’s Board of Ethical Review.
