The Red Jacket Community Library is set to receive $30,000 in state funding, thanks to support secured by State Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan (R-131).
Gallahan said the money will help sustain daily operations, expand programming, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for residents of all ages. He called the library “a hub for learning, literacy, and community engagement,” especially for families and children in rural areas.
“With this funding, the library can continue offering vital services like early childhood literacy programs and public internet access,” Gallahan said, adding that he will continue pushing for more investment in rural libraries.
Library Director Jordan Schneider expressed gratitude, saying the funding ensures the library can continue delivering key programs while planning for long-term stability and growth.
The 131st Assembly District includes portions of Ontario, Seneca, Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Broome, and Chenango counties.
