A Seneca County man is returning to prison for the death of his 3-year-old stepson.
43-year-old Donald Bovio of Seneca Falls was sentenced Wednesday to the maximum term of 25 years in prison by state Supreme Court Justice Jason Cook for first-degree manslaughter.
Bovio pleaded guilty to the charge in January. Bovio was found guilty of the murder of his stepson Peter in May 2018 at the Peterman Road Apartments, but an appeals court vacated his first conviction.
The Finger Lakes Times reports Bovio will get credit for time already served.
