A former town supervisor in Wayne County has announced she is running for the New York State Assembly in District 130.
Summer Johnson said she is entering the race to promote what she described as honest leadership, limited government, strong public safety, and support for families, veterans, and first responders. She pointed to her experience as Marion town supervisor, saying she has worked at both the local and state levels to protect taxpayers, support emergency services and law enforcement, and push for transparency in government.
Johnson said her personal connection to military service also shapes her priorities. She is married to a disabled War on Terror veteran and said issues of service and sacrifice are important to her and her family.

In outlining her platform, Johnson said she supports defending constitutional rights, encouraging responsible land use, protecting rural communities, and strengthening families.
Johnson also expressed respect for current Assemblyman Brian Manktelow, thanking him and his family for their service to the district.
District 130 includes parts of Wayne, Ontario, Cayuga, and Seneca counties. Johnson said she hopes to earn the support of voters in the district as the campaign moves forward.
