Former high school basketball coach Dean Schott II has been sentenced to 10 years of probation after pleading guilty to third-degree criminal sexual act, according to the Wayne County District Attorney’s Office.
Wayne County Judge Richard Healy also ordered Schott to register as a sex offender and issued a final order of protection for the victim.
Schott, a 22-year employee of the Lyons Central School District, had been charged in August with third-degree criminal sexual act and sexual abuse, stemming from allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student in April 2019. He resigned immediately following his arrest.
