Five people, including a small child, were injured Sunday evening in a rollover crash in the town of Geneva.
Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the scene around 7:30 p.m. near 5095 County Road 6, following reports of a vehicle rollover with possible entrapment. Finger Lakes Ambulance and the West Lake Fire Department were already on scene providing aid when deputies arrived. Authorities say everyone had been safely removed from the vehicle prior to law enforcement’s arrival. The vehicle was carrying five occupants, four adults and one child.
Following an investigation, deputies determined the northbound vehicle driven by 25-year-old Hannah-Rose Haggerty of Ovid lost control due to snowy weather conditions and unsafe speed.
The other occupants were identified as 25-year-old Hope Murphy, 25-year-old Curtis Moll, of Dundee, and 38-year-old Joshua Haggerty, 38, of Ovid. All five were transported by ambulance to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Haggerty was issued a citation for speeding.
A portion of County Road 6 was closed for approximately one hour while emergency crews responded to the scene.
