The first legal New York State marijuana dispensary in the Finger Lakes is going to open soon in Geneva. It’s called “High Points”, and it is located in the Town of Geneva on Beans Hill at the entrance to the Lake Geneva Center between Empire Vision Works and the Denny’s Restaurant.
It looks like you will not even have to get out of your car, as the building has a drive-thru lane.
Signs at the location indicate it’s a “NYS Licensed Dispensary” and will open soon.
Recreational marijuana use has been legal in New York State since 2021.
A lawsuit blocked licenses being issued in the Rochester-Finger Lakes region. That lawsuit was settled this summer and licenses were approved including several in the Finger Lakes.
“William Jane”, an Ithaca-licensed dispensary opened in March but state officials consider Ithaca part of the Southern Tier.
The first legal weed shop in Rochester opened in August, but everyone knows “Rochester is not the part of the Finger Lakes.”
The Cayuga Indian Nation has been selling marijuana in Seneca Falls and Union Springs since pot was approved in New York.
