Electric Fryer Suspected in Ontario County Structure Fire

Investigators believe they know what caused a structure fire in Ontario County Sunday morning.

Upon reaching the scene at 4192 Johnson Road in the town of Hopewell at around 9 o’clock, Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies used a garden hose to contain the fire to the garage until Manchester and Shortsville firefighters arrived and put it out.

The fire is believed to have been caused by an electric fryer in the garage but that has not yet been confirmed. No injuries were reported.
