Duo Accused of Using Fake Debit Card to Purchase $11K Gift Cards in Waterloo

SHARE NOW

Two people have been charged for allegedly using a fake debit card to buy $11,500 in gift cards from a local gas station.

Employees at the Speedway in Waterloo were able to give State Police a description of the vehicle the suspects left the store in. A couple of hours later, a white Ford Expedition matching the suspect vehicle description was spotted by Troopers on Routes 5 and 20 in Ontario County and pulled over. The two men in the car were determined to be the suspects involved in the Sunday night larceny at Speedway.

28-year-old Marrion Simms, of Michigan, and 24-year-old Deshon Davis, of Rochester, were charged with felony grand larceny. Simms was also arrested on warrants from Ohio, Missouri, and Pennsylvania.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
