Two people were hospitalized Sunday after a crash at the intersection of State Route 5&20 and County Road 37, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say Emily Payton, of Rochester, was driving a Toyota Prius south on County Road 37 around noon when she went through a red light and collided with a Chevrolet pickup driven by Gerald Wiedemann, of Bloomfield.
Payton suffered a cut to the back of her head, and her passenger, Devin Robinson, also of Rochester, was believed to have sustained a concussion. Both were taken by Honeoye Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for evaluation.
Following the investigation, Payton was ticketed for disobeying a traffic control device.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
