A Rochester woman is listed in critical condition at Strong Memorial Hospital after she was involved in a two-car rollover accident in Canandaigua on Sunday.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, 20-year-old Ethan Michaelski, of Palmyra, was driving north on County Road 28 when he approached the Emerson Road intersection. 76-year-old Susan Labigan was driving east on Emerson when it appears she failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with Michaelski’s Ford F-250 pickup truck. The impact caused Labigan’s car to overturn into a steep embankment. She was extricated from her car by the Canandaigua Fire Department. She was airlifted to Rochester by Mercy Flight after it was determined her injuries were critical.
Michaeleski suffered minor non-life-threatening injuries.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Unit responded to the scene. The roadway was closed for several hours while investigators worked to reconstruct the accident.
The investigation remains open at this time.
