Disabled Student Claims Harassment in Suit Filed Against Finger Lakes School

SHARE NOW

A lawsuit has been filed against one Finger Lakes school district by a student who alleges they were the victim of sexual harassment and bullying.

13WHAM in Rochester reports that the civil suit filed against the Phelps-Clifton Springs School District alleges that a group of six girls have physically attacked the victim multiple times. According to lawyers, the victim, who was identified by the pseudonym “Janie Doe,” is learning disabled. The lawsuit claims “Janie” has suffered five mental health hospitalizations since being assaulted last November.

The school district released a statement to Channel 13 saying it does not comment on pending legal matters and works tirelessly to ensure the health and safety of all students, staff, and visitors.
