An Ontario County woman is facing arson charges after deputies say she set multiple fires inside and outside an apartment building earlier this month.
The sheriff’s office says Kiarra Robinson was arrested on Tuesday in connection with a fire call on August 4. When deputies got there around 6:15 p.m., they say Robinson was outside the Broad Street building, allegedly starting fires. A resident had already put out one blaze she allegedly set inside.
Deputies say Robinson went back into the complex, lit more fires, and even threw burning objects at them before retreating to her apartment. Once the building was evacuated, deputies found several small fires inside her unit, including items burning on the stove.
Robinson was taken to a hospital for treatment before being booked into the Ontario County Jail. She’s due in Manchester Town Court at a later date.
No one was hurt.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
