Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a rollover crash on November 25, around 7:30 p.m., on County Road 6 in the Town of Geneva.
When deputies arrived, they found a red Hyundai Elantra that had overturned, but the driver had fled the scene. A short time later, deputies located and identified the driver as William Lazaro. Investigators say the 19-year-old Lazaro, of Waterloo, was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and was taken into custody.
He was later released and is scheduled to appear in Geneva Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
