Convicted Rapist Receives Additional Prison Time for Murder-For-Hire Plot

A convicted rapist and his girlfriend were sentenced Thursday for orchestrating a murder-for-hire scheme that targeted two officials involved in the man’s rape case.

Alexander Kise of Canandaigua was convicted in March of sexually assaulting, injuring, and threatening a teenage girl he met on social media and holding her captive for 48 hours in June 2022 and was sentenced to 35 years in prison in May 2024.

According to State Police, an April 2024 investigation uncovered that Kise and his girlfriend, Alydia Gater, conspired to hire someone to kill the Ontario County Court judge and the Ontario County assistant district attorney responsible for his prosecution. Investigators say Gater met with an undercover officer she believed to be a contract killer and offered $1,750 worth of Xanax in exchange for murdering the judge.

During Thursday afternoon’s sentencing, Gater received a term of 2 to 6 years in state prison. Kise was sentenced to an additional 5 to 15 years, which will be served consecutively to his existing 35-year sentence.
