A two-car accident this morning in Ontario County claimed the life of a Connecticut man.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the victim’s car entered State Route 96 from Omnitech Place when he was hit by a southbound car.

The 80-year-old man was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. A passenger in his car and the driver of the car that struck them were taken to the same hospital and are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Victor-Farmington and Perinton ambulances transported all three to the hospital. Fishers Fire Department was also on the scene to assist.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Team and Criminal Investigation Division are investigating the crash. As of late this morning, the southbound lane of State Route 96 is closed at Omnitech Place as the investigation continues.

The names of those involved in the accident will be released at a later time.
