Community Bank’s Waterloo branch recently helped kick off the 2025 Empire State Winter Games by participating in an Olympic-style torch relay across New York state. On Thursday, January 23rd, the torch run started from the corner of 46 West Main St. before arriving at the Community Bank Waterloo branch for a small reception and photo opportunities.
“We were delighted to participate in the torch relay for this year’s Empire State Winter Games,” Community Bank Senior Vice President, Head of Retail Banking Melissa Bollman said. “This tradition is always such a fun and meaningful way to bring the community together as we celebrate the spirit and camaraderie of the games. We extend our best wishes to all the participating athletes and look forward to an exciting competition!”
Waterloo was one of nine participating Community Bank branches to take part in the 700-mile torch relay across the state. Additional branch stops included: Gowanda, Orchard Park, Hanover Square, Canton, Delmar, Tupper Lake, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid.
The Empire State Winter Games wraps up its three-day run in Lake Placid on Sunday with an estimated 2,500 athletes of all ages and abilities having competed in a variety of winter sporting events. Community Bank is the title sponsor of this year’s Empire State Winter Games.
