A local man is hospitalized after the box truck he was driving was involved in an accident with another box truck Tuesday morning on the Thruway in Seneca County.
State Police say it happened shortly after 8 a.m. on I-90 East near Exit 41 in the town of Tyre.
An investigation determined that one box truck, driven by 42-year-old Justin Rice, of Clyde, collided with another box truck driven by 39-year-old Stephen Kettler, of Masury, Ohio, from behind, causing the truck to go off the south shoulder and overturn. Rice then went off the north shoulder of the roadway, striking a guide rail.
Kettler was taken to Upstate Hospital with minor injuries while Rice was also taken to the same hospital with undisclosed serious injuries.
New York State Police were assisted at the scene by the Thruway Authority, North Seneca Ambulance, Lifenet, and Tyre Fire Department.
No charges have been filed at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
