A Clyde man was arrested by the New York State Police in Lyons on Thursday following an investigation into suspected child sexual exploitation.
34-year-old Timothy Daniel was taken into custody after authorities identified him as the suspected user of online accounts linked to multiple reports submitted to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) through its CyberTipline. The reports, which were first received in July 2024, prompted the NYSP Bureau of Criminal Investigation at SP Lyons to launch an extensive investigation.
Investigators executed a search warrant in February 2025 and seized an electronic device belonging to Daniel. Forensic examination of the device revealed multiple files of suspected child sexual abuse material.
Daniel was charged with three counts of Possessing a Sexual Performance by a Child, a Class E felony. He was processed at SP Lyons and released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Clyde Town Court on January 7, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
The New York State Police continue to urge anyone with information related to child exploitation to contact law enforcement or NCMEC.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
