A Clifton Springs man was killed in an Upstate snowmobile accident Wednesday night.
The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office reports Michael Spooner was operating a snowmobile on a road in the town of Martinsburg at around 11:30 when the 54-year-old lost control on a curve and hit a tree. Despite the efforts of bystanders who performed CPR until EMTs arrived, Spooner was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Martinsburg Fire Department and Lewis County Search and Rescue.
