A resolution opposing a plan that would increase the height of the Seneca Meadows Landfill has been approved by Geneva City Council.
Councilors acknowledged that while the landfill is not in Geneva, the city is seeking “interested party” status. If the height increase is approved the landfill would remain open until 2040.
The resolution will be sent to the state DEC, which is seeking public input on the landfill’s height increase.
