Child and Family Resources is closing its Geneva office. Julie Champion said a recent decision was made to see how the agency would function if some of the Geneva staff worked from home regularly as the changing needs of families in the post-COVID era resulted in that location seeing less and less foot traffic.
“We have about nine staff in Geneva and about half of them are already working from home offices,” said Julie Champion on Finger Lakes News Radio’s FLX Morning News. “At the end of July, we are going to be closing down the office at 671 South Exchange Street and we will be having some of our staff move to other locations that we have open or work from home.”
Julie says Geneva residents will not see a change in services.
“We’re still there, we just won’t have the storefront and quite honestly, that cuts down on some overhead costs too. We will still be in the community, able to conduct parent support groups and parent workshops and we will be doing that with our partner agencies like the Geneva Community Center.”
Julie said in-person services will still be offered, at the Penn Yan, Seneca Falls, and Canandaigua locations.
