A Canandaigua woman suffered a broken leg and internal injuries after being involved in a two-car crash during the noon hour on Monday.
A preliminary investigation by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office determined 63-year-old Lynn McLaughlin was following too closely when she rear-ended a car driven by 53-year-old Dawn Adams of Clifton Springs as Adams was making a left turn onto County Road 47 off State Routes 5 and 20 in Hopewell.
An Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputy provided immediate medical assistance to stabilize McLaughlin until Canandaigua Emergency Squad arrived on the scene. McLaughlin was airlifted to Strong by Mercy Flight for her injuries. Adams suffered minor cuts.
McLaughlin was ticketed for following too closely and will appear in Hopewell Town Court on a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
