SHARE NOW

A 19-year-old Canandaigua man was sentenced to life in prison for the killing of a six-year-old boy in South Carolina.

Jerimiah Harley and a 21-year-old co-defendant were sentenced after both pleaded guilty on Tuesday to the 2022 murder in Orangeburg County.  Two other suspects, a 22-year-old from Illinois and 21-year-old Seth Phillips of Farmington have yet to be tried in the case.

The men were all charged after being involved in a drive-by shooting that killed Winston Hunter inside his home. Police say the suspects fired 21 shots into the wrong home they were targeting and fatally struck Hunter, who according to SC NOW, was sitting on the couch of his family’s home on McClain Street when gunfire erupted from a vehicle outside at 11:35 p.m.
