The Town of Canandaigua is advising residents of temporary changes at the local DMV as staff transition to a new state software system.
According to the Ontario County Clerk’s Office, the Canandaigua DMV will serve only Ontario County residents through the end of this week. Officials say the temporary restriction will give employees time to become familiar with the new New York State Department of Motor Vehicles software.
Longer-than-normal wait times are expected during the transition period.
