The owners of a dog that attacked and injured several people last month, including a father and his 10-year-old son, were arraigned yesterday in Canandaigua City Court.
27-year-old Casey Murphy, and 26-year-old Madison Herendeen are facing charges in the August 29th dog attack on South Main Street in Canandaigua. The father who was severely injured in that attack was in the court room for the arraignment.
Murphy and Herendeen entered not-guilty pleas for assault and reckless endangerment charges. Police say the pair allowed the dog to run at-large while knowing it had a history of biting others.
Both say they don’t own the dog. The Ontario County Humane Society has taken charge of the dog.
Murphy and Herendeen will be back in court next month.
Meanwhile, A GoFundMe campaign for the father and son has raised over $46,000.
